Once in awhile you venture away from the path and discover a new world. This was a shot I took under a bridge on the Colonial Parkway in Virginia, somewhere between Yorktown and Williamsburg. The sand had been undisturbed for the most part except for little crab footprints that have scratched the surface. The wind and moisture created mini dunes for the whole stretch of the low cover. I ran my fingers on it and it felt like a skin of some unknown creature. I took this shot with a macro zoom lens using available light only.
